A reactive type of silencer containing no packing or absorptive material at all. These units are designed to attenuate the tonal frequencies generated by air conditioning compressors on the hot gas side of the compressor.

Like the gas pulsation dampeners these silencers are designed to attenuate the fundamental pulsation frequencies of the compressor by cancellation through the use of branch and series tubes as illustrated. This prevents the pulsations causing excessive vibration and noise radition in the downstream pipework which can persist thoughout the building or installation.

Thes units are designed and manufactured to be part of the pipework system and may be installed in either the horizontal or vertical orientations. Connection to the pipework is made by couplings, flanges or for permnanent installation by soldering / brazing or welding in-situ.
