Inlet silencers for multi-bladed fans are perhaps the simplest of silencers in our range, however this does not mean that they are provided with any less attention that our most heavily engineering products as their performance requirements of low pressure drop and attenuation are often crucial in a typical suburban or industrial installation.
Despite their simple riveted, or welded construction, it is essential to provide the right attenuation at frequencies that match the machine to which the equipment is attached.
Typically fan inlet silencers are built with a low pressure drop, so that the performance of the machine is not affected, and a mixed combination of low and high frequency attenuation.
High frequency attenuation is important to remove the noise from the fan blades, whilst low frequency attenuation is important to remove the noise, typically a rumble, from the passage of the air through the machine.
